Join us in congratulating our attorney Kirby Mitchell for his appointment to the Board of Directors at National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA).  Kirby has been appointed to the Board of Directors in the Civil Individual Director position for a two year term.  A graduate of Furman University (1990) and University of Georgia School of Law (1996), Kirby has served as Staff Attorney and Managing Attorney of SCLS’s Greenville Office, and he currently heads the firm’s innovative Medical Legal Partnership (MLP) which is a partnership with SCLS, Greenville Health System and Furman University (the 1st MLP in South Carolina). As a member of the NLADA Board of Directors, Kirby will oversee NLADA’s policies, governance and programming in its efforts to secure wider access to counsel and achieving NLADA’s high purpose mission of access to justice for all.

NLADA is America’s oldest and largest nonprofit association devoted to excellence in the delivery of legal services to those who cannot afford counsel.  They provide advocacy, guidance, information, training, and technical assistance for members of the equal justice community.
